eberron

A beguiler is a spellcaster who combines trickery with illusion magic.[1]

Description

Relying on the subtle arts of manipulation and deceit, the beguiler turns every situation into an advantage. Relying on a glib tongue, sharp wit, surprise spellcasting, and a fair bit of luck beguilers never find themselves at a loss for words, and almost always have a solution for any problem.[1]

Abilities

Beguilers are able to wear light armor without risking spell failure.[1]

Like a rogue, a beguiler can search for traps.[1]

Society

Changelings and doppelgangers are often beguilers because of their natural tendency to the role of spy, assassin or trickster, as are the gnomes of Zilargo. They sometimes arise naturally in Droaam and the Shadow Marches.[1]

Beguilers might belong to the Royal Eyes of Aundair, the dragonmarked houses of House Phiarlan and House Thuranni.[1]
